That's someone's affiliate link and I think this must be the 10th time this deal has been reposted. Literally. :)

Most likely, a "friend" or spammer emailed you that link. It carries some identifying code that tells Vistaprint that they referred you. The "friend" gets a few bucks when you sign up for the cards.

Normally, this is not a bad thing - what's wrong with spreading the word about a deal and getting a few dollars to boot? Well, it leads to a lot of spam all over the message boards, usenet and email. So it's generally discouraged on most deal boards, but is welcome in the MLM, Referrals, and Spam Forum.

You can sometimes spot an affiliate or referral link if it has appears to be too long. Sometimes they will be obvious, like PayPal (paypal.com?pal=[email protected]), but usually they're somewhat disguised.

What do you think? Is vistaprint actually pulling a profit after paying affiliates $1 and charging only a reasonable shipping cost, or are they just trying to acquire customers for future purchases? Im just curious.

I tried several of these "free" business card deals and have never gotten any. Are these for real?

Vistaprint is REAL and legit. I've ordered from them before and their cards are printed on thick paper. It's good stuff :)
