Despite reports from a handful of sites denying our earlier story, Final Fantasy Tactics is indeed headed for Sony's Greatest Hits line of games and now has a firm release date and price. Videogame retailer GameStop has verified that the Greatest Hits version to this PlayStation classic should reach store shelves on July 31st for a meager price of $24.99.
In addition, a rerelease of Prima's Official Strategy Guide to Final Fantasy Tactics will be available.
I preordered mine from gamestop.
For those who don't know, Final Fantasy Tactics was first released after FF7. The battles are much different than normal FF battles. Think Fallout Tactics meets Final Fantasy (hence Final Fantasy Tactics). When it was released, Sony made very little copies and thus it sold quickly and it was hard to find a copy, making it one of the rarest PSX games. On ebay, it sold for over $100. It's one of the best games to get. Now, if they would only release puzzle fighter then I would be set for life.
