I'm getting a new Intel PIII 1ghz PPGA cpu next week. It'll go on a slocket cuz I've got a slot 1 mobo, AsusTek P3b-f. Does anyone know of a good CPU fan/heatsink combo out there? I would use the retail fan if my box wasn't always so hot like 90F. I've had my cpu actually go above 120F. Thanks.

soory bout the ppga mixup. it's what I get for not buying a new cpu for 3 years. heh.

As far as the air circulation goes, yeah, the fan was backwards and I switched it backwards. So I think I had the fans blowing air out on both sides. It's an Antec tower so it's not too shabby.

But I'll take a look at the the globalwin.

What about the Thermalengine that you're talking about? I saw @ Overclockerz.com that they won't warranty any CPU that's using it. Do you know what's that all about?

And last question would be where's a good place to get the cpu coolers?

Cool, thanks for all the links.

Last question. Because I've got a slot 1 mobo and I'll be putting the cpu on a slocket. Should I buy a fc-pga cooler or a slot 1 SECC 2 cooler?

I'm looking at some of the fc-pga coolers and those heat sinks are massive. I'm worried that if I attach it to the sloket, it'll fall over and rip off the cpu. and I also need enough clearance so that the fan isn't blocking any memory banks or something.

I'm looking at the Alpha PAL 15U cuz it's so thin so it can hang on it. But I have no idea how well it'll cool. Any comments on it?

But isn't your system loud with all those delta fans?
