I already have a Toshiba SD-2109, but I need a cheapo player for my bedroom tv. I need it to be able to play VCDs. Are there any brands under $100 that support VCD other than Apex? If not, which Apex model is good and won't crap out? Thanks.

ok i just checked this on banand.... deal is at wal-mart its a clearance item... panasonic dvd rv-26k plays vcds cdrw cdr dvd....and though it doesnt say so on the box it also plays mp3s... drawback is that it has no built in dts or dolby digital decoding which is fine if you dont need it or fi your reciever has it.

Yeah I saw that post at anand, too, but the thing is, the nearest walmart is about 60 miles away. I wouldn't want to drive all the way there to find out that they don't have them or they're not on clearance. :(
