1600x1024 res with Geforce2

So I'm thinking about getting the SGI 1600x1024 lcd. My question is whether the Geforce2 has support for 1600x1024. On the net I found one reference to the Geforce2 bios being updated to support this resolution. Does anybody know about this. Not owning a GeForce2 I can't check for myself, but if it does support 1600x1024, I might consider getting it and the monitor.
