How can I speed up my laptop??!?!?

I have a Compaq Presario 1275 Laptop.

I have 366 MHZ AMD K6 processor and 64 meg of RAM.

I want to boost my RAM but I'm not sure it will make a difference. Will it? If I boost, how much RAM should I get, and what speed should I get?

I would boost it as much as you can afford. You'll need to find compatible memory for your make and model--laptops are incredibly picky and a memory mismatch can cause all sorts of headaches. Another way to speed up your notebook (or any PC, really) is to format the drive and reinstall windows and your applications. It will make a world of difference.

thanks, topane. i only have 64 meg of ram, do you think if i boost it like 256 meg, it would make a bigger difference than say, 96? also, how big a difference does it make with regard to the speed of the ram?
