so i bought a pc 133 instead of a pc 100... can i still use it???... or will it cause problems...

You should be fine. The PC133 RAM will run at 100. However, sometimes the stick placement can be tricky, so play around with it if things don't work right at first. Best of luck.

You can run PC100 with PC133 memory, but it will slow down the other memory (if it was running at PC133 before) down to PC100 so as not to overclock the PC100 and burn it out.

The number (100, 133, etc) is just a rating. It means that this particular stick of RAM was tested and will run reliably up to the MHz rated (i.e. 100, 133, etc).
So feel safe funning these sticks of RAM at or below their rated speed. They don't have a "speed" of their own, just a performance rating.
Now, some sticks might actually outperform their ratings... but that's for you to find out... if you want.
