i just found out that my geforce 2 mx card seem to be extremly HOT

If it is a PCI card, that's probably normal. It will have a voltage regulator on board that steps 5.0v down to 3.3v.

If you have an AGP card and it's "hot," there is probably something wrong. The MX chip only dissipates 4W, so even just a heatsink will only be slightly warm to the touch. If that is not how your card feels, return it and get a replacement.

If I remember correctly the mx has a heatsink only on the GPU right? If you don't have some sort of active cooling on that....maybe you could get a small fan and put it on the heatsink.

You could also get a case fan and point it directly at the card.

OR...:)

You could open up the side of your case...get a fan from Target/Walmart/K-mart etc. and point it directly into your case....keep your whole system cooler....:)

well i already checks it out and stuff, im guessing pandex is like an oem manufacturer, if im wron correct me. If the card is stable at that temp maybe ur case is running hotter because of summer (if canadians have summer) but are u still getting incredibly low scores????

and 1889 in 3dmark 2k1

what kindof a processor do u have, that sounds exactly right to me. That's around the score i get 1900 with a 1ghz athlon, and if i o'clock the mx i get 2250 something.

I have a herc card, but i bought a blorb to put on it, but wouldn't fit, so i just took the fan off of the blorb and attached it to the stock heatsink, seems to work pretty well and it oclocks quite well too.

My card runs really hot, all you people that say that's bad don't know what you're talking about all mx's run hot they don't have a fan on their hs so they just build up heat. Everyone i know that has an mx says it runs hot. So there u go, you're fine don't worry everything is going to be ok.

I remember burning myself on my old Vanta card before, strapped a 92mm case fan to the heat sink with some rubberbands, looked ugly but it worked like a charm. I mean this baby was hot.......
