I just got back from 4 days in Vancouver. I totally had a lot of fun up there. It's definitely a change of place from LA. I think I would've enjoyed it more if it didn't rain on Saturday so I could've seen the fireworks from the Festival of Lights.

Oh, that's right, there's the fireworks competitions up there still, isn't there!

Hey, I guess we couldn't all come from Lotusland, so it's always nice to hear people go up there for the first time and realize how great a place it is...

Lotusland? Yeah, for some reason Vancouverites like to refer to Vancouver as Lotusland sometimes...

I don't know why.

Hmm... That is something I did not hear. I thought the currency was funny though... a $1 coin is called a Looney because the duck on the coin is known as a Loon and a $2 coin was called a Tooney since the denomination was $2.

I don't think I've ever eaten so much Asian food in my life... Japanese, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Malay, and I think the list goes on. It's funny since I ate everything but Korean food since I am Korean... But apparently my Chinese friends like to avoid the Korean part of town... Burnaby.

There IS no Korean part of town. There seems to be every sort of Asian EXCEPT Koreans up there. Kind of weird if you ask me.

From my understanding, Burnaby is the Korean part of town. I drove through it and it seemed like there were lots of Korean signs and shops and stuff. I was staying in Richmond where I hear it's predominantly Chinese. My eyes could probably back up that statement. That's the majority ethnicity that I did see for the whole trip.
