Nobody get XP (as though you were going to anyway).

The damn thing deactivated on me. Wonderful microsoft. Sell important office applications, then when its mission critical, deactivate it.

I'm surprised they don't offer an "express" activation for more money.

One missed deadline isn't worth Office XP, or any version of office for that matter. Christ! Microsoft should get it that they're not selling the secret of the atom bomb, its just a damn souped up typewriter.

Back to Office 2000. Oh well, its not like I even noticed that XP wasn't 2000 in the first place.

Before you install it tells you that it is good for only a 180 day trial. There isn't an express "pay to continue" feature because it is merely a release candidate. It isn't the fulfledged product. The full fledged product hasnt' been released yet.

i'm talking retail office xp. not windows xp.

After this, I think windows xp is a no brainer, with emphasis on "no."
