I am putting together a system for my brother, and I am looking for a cheap video card. I have a Radeon 64DDR Vivo, and have been very happy with it, but it is out of the budget range. I am considering getting the Radeon 32DDR LE, and using the hacks that are available to activate the Hyper Z.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing this, and if so, how it went? From what I read about this at banand, the hack seems simple enough, just changing some registry settings and installing an overclocking program. I would like to hear from anyone who has actually done this, and what kind of results they got.

Thanks for the help.

i havent had experience with them but i have heard good stuff about the hacks, the radeon is a good route to go if ur in the buget sector cause the geforce 2 mx is crippled beyond recognition but geforce 2's have gone down alot in price, if u were to go the nvidia route id get a geforce ddr (leadtek makes nice ones) they are supper cheap and about on par with the proformance level of the radeon le and geforce 2 mx

I have one. It is hacked. You have to flash the bios first. It's easy, just run the flash utility with the new bios file as an argument (from DOS). Then add the reg hack and you are done. I haven't run any tests on it to find the speed, but it works for what I am doing, so who cares?
You should be able to find the utility and bios file fairly easily, just do a search. (I can't do it right now, I'm at work)
