View Full Version : BAD news Flooz (not just Acer or AmGr.com) SPEND it soon!?

I recently went for a 9.95 spindle at Outpost with my americangreetings flooz. Later I found out that Outpost has killed its partnership with Outpost, and was cancelling flooz orders left and right. Lo and behold, my order has been put on hold, and my Flooz account has no record of any transaction. I called customer service and was told that Outpost had shed its "bad business partner," Flooz. Other members of other boards have also been saying that Outpost Customer Service Reps are saying that Flooz has failed to pay Outpost frequently of late. Outpost CSRs have even said that it would be a good idea to quickly spend the Flooz elsewhere.

With all the fanfare from AG.com, ACER and Amex all doing (arguably ridiculous) promotions, this may be a last gasp effort on the part of Flooz (Whoopi's Phony Money Company) and its partners to pump some dollars through their dubious business model. This speculated downfall wouldn't quite be a CyberRebate-esque incident, but why risk it? There is no solid evidence that Flooz is near collapse, but these observations don't paint a bright picture either.

Again, this is all speculation, and a lot of buzzing from "other boards." Flooz may be a wonderful company that will last decades to come. (I'd like to thank the Academy) I have not linked or pimped these other forums out of respect for Apex and the gang. If you want a more solid source than my forum-gossip, just ask.

Ending on a positive note, I'd like to see our gotApex minds come together, to come up with sweet ways to spend our Flooz (sans Outpost).

I just bought the following for $51.23 on BN.com: "The Matrix" DVD, "It's a Wonderful Life" DVD, The Beatles' "Revolver" CD and the "Dave Barry's Guide to Guys" book. Barnes and Noble DOES let you combine other forms of payment, and there's a 10 off 40 coupon floating out there. FREE shipping on orders of 2 or more items. NO TAX in California! After my AG.com flooz, I'm gonna see $1.23 on my Mastercard. Not bad!

I was told by CSR at Outpost that they had NO problems getting paid by Flooz. The company who recently took over outpost does not participate in Flooz and so they (outpost) will no longer accept it. J & R state that they have no plans to discontinue accepting flooz as payment. I don't think we should be jumping to conclusions based on one companies reorganization.

I have been waiting 2 weeks for my Flooz to arrive
I bought $200 of Flooz for a gift and the recipient still has failed to receive it. I even screen captured all my steps and checked if everthing was done correctly.

I contacted their wonderful technical support(which sucks
more than any Hoover ever did) via email since they have no phone number or links to live tech support as stated on their website usually fail.

This is what their "Live help screen says for an hour"

ARggghhhh...

I received an email 4 days after the initial email was sent and they said they are looking into it and someone will contact me soon. I guess 1 week is soon to them and got an email saying my transaction is undergoing security review.

This was all done from the Amex link. I think Flooz's website section "How it work's" should just say

"It doesn't!!!"

They deserve to go out of business good luck with Hollywood Squares Woopie...

Also,
barnes and noble is sort of spotty on whether or not they accept flooz.
sometimes they do, sometimes they don't...

You guys are a life saver.. I spent my flooz the second I saw the initial post... look what the excerpt from NYTimes.com says:

"
Flooz.com an Internet company that offered online currency that could be used at dozens of World Wide Web sites, has shut its Web site and is considering ceasing operations, executives close to the company said yesterday.

The company, based in Silicon Alley in Manhattan, has stopped accepting its online currency for payment, leaving many customers wondering whether they are holding worthless virtual paper.

Company officials declined to comment on the Web site or future plans yesterday. The site displays a message that says: "We are currently unable to process your transaction. Check back for further updates. We apologize for this inconvenience."

What exactly would they use to pay for this merchandise? More funny money?

Perhaps Anne Stanton can send them some CitySpree Gift Certificates in exchange.

Then they can all get their money back in 8-10 milleniums from Joel Granik at CyberRebate.
