hey i was wondering if this was "normal" or if i can change my settings somehow to fix this. when my monitor has been off for a long tme, ie auto shut off or i turn it off, and then i turn it back on, the display settings are "off". by off i mean the edges of the display are not where i left them. what i mean is, when i am using my monitor, have the the display set to reach the edge of my monitor. when i turn it back on it is about an inch away from the edge on some sides. thanks in advance for your help. o i dont know if this matters but i have an ati xper2000 agp 32mb video card, hyundai deluxScan p210 21 inch monitor. right now my display is 1152x864 and my refresh rate is set to "optimal". thanks alot.

Monitors have a certain "warm up" time before they display images the way that they are supposed to. Some monitors take up to half an hour to settle into their optimal state. The larger the monitor, the longer it takes. It's not unusual for a 21 inch monitor to be a little off center when it first turns on. After 15 minutes or so, does the image get to where it should be without any additional adjustment? If so, this is normal operation. Deal with it and be happy that you have a 21 inch... monitor. :)

I have a Phillips 107MB - when it is set to shut off, the same problem arises.

The only solution I am happy with is only to let it go to low power mode, not suspend.
I have not found any explanable solution, but it could be the way the whole PowerSaving system (Video, Monitor, MOBO)
works. (Some kind of timing issue)
