G|A Unreal Tournament...Tournament ?

Okay, the StarCraft tournament is full swing at the moment, and the CS tournament is in the past. I personally can't stand either of these games, but I figure we still should have a few more Got Apex tourneys. Everyone has Unreal Tournament, so why don't we play a tournament of that game while we await Unreal 2 and Unreal Championship? We could either have a free for all match or a 1-on-1 ladder.

Just a suggestion. Anyone have any other game ideas for a tournament?

yeah, as i said up front, i'm game for some killin', even though i'm pretty pathetic at UT.

some other fun games we could hold tournaments in would be the Day of Defeat mod for HL. That's pretty sweet. Of course a repeat of a CS touney would be great. Someone mentioned AOEII, that's a helluva good idea too. Maybe Tribes 2..?

That sounds great...I was going to go and try to beg a few friends, but most of us have now moved from T1s and T3s to DSL, making the request rather pointless. I miss my T1...

Oh well. How do we want to run this tournament? I'm totally up for suggestions because unlike Starcraft, this game can be played in so many ways. Do we want to play Last Man Standing, Death Match, or any of the team game types? Do we want to compete in a few different game types and combine the scores? Whichever way we go, this is all for fun...unless I can whine and get some of the big men from Got|Apex to kick down another shirt...but I've done enough man-whoring to LPM and Apex in the last 24 hours...

Tell you what...I'll set it up tomorrow at work. I won't really be able to test it out (hard to frag in a cubicle during working hours, you know), but I'll be happy to get the ball rolling. If any of you folks have any tips for me for setting up the UT server or any special configs, please let me know and I'll do my best to accomodate. I'm usually on IRC during the day (9-5 EST).

i'm all for team-based gaming, though that makes things like t-shirts difficult to award (less we just do like best score).

been tinkering with Strike Force the past couple of days. I gotta say, that's something not worth playing at this point. Yucky.

I finally installed UT again today. I haven't played in like 9 months, so I may be a bit rusty. I also downloaded the newest patch and all 4 of the bonus packs, so I should be set to go!!

No I didn't DarkFury, it seems like those type of errors appear if you have certain mods but I've just got a plain install. I'm running the Game of the Year edition w/ the 4.36 patch on 2k server. Are you running the latest patch?
