Recieved Labtec Headset/Microphone from Visitalk

Got it in the mail today, looks to be pretty good quality, it says it uses "active noise-cancellation and amplification technology", haven't tried it with voice-recognition software yet so I dunno, but hey, it was free! They sent me an e-mail about 3 weeks ago saying it was on its way, now that's slow shipping!

Anybody know if there is a connector I can get to make the 2 plugs on the headphones (speaker and mic) one plug so I can use it on my phone?

i got mine a while back and it broke on me, maybe It was my luck, I dunt noe. I can hear from it but my Mic aint working properly.

I still want to have the separate plugs to use on my computer. I just want a plug to be able to use it with my phone when I want to. It WOULD actually be possible to splice then together (not the way abatardi mentions, of course http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif) but that is the reason why I wouldn't want to.

I think I know what you're talking about - you want to plug it into the headphone connection that a lot of portable phones have, right? The one's I have seen have been what looks like a 1/16th of an inch connector (standard headphone jack is 1/8th I think). I'm not sure how it's wired but I'll bet you could get one of those plugs from RadioShack's catalog, along with 2 female 1/8th inch mono plugs that you could plug the end of the headset into - the soldering's up to you. Then again, with the amount RadioShack overcharges for their stuff, might be cheaper just to buy a headset... Man, I worked for a computer reseller and we bought from a source called I think "Krista Micro", sold cables and connectors in bulk, like 100 to 500 at a time, stuff like the ps/2 to AT converters that sell at CompUsa for $5.99... cost literally $0.25 from this catalog in bulk, 6 foot printer cables were like $.75 I can't bealive how much the stores mark this junk up.
