I saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back last night. I have to say it was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a LONG time. Definitely worth the cost of the ticket and then some. One thing to keep in mind, if you havent seen the other Kevin Smith movies, I would definitely rent them before going, otherwise some of the humor will escape you. There were definitely a lot of people there who hadnt seen some or even any of the other movies, and generally they were the ones who werent laughing, as a lot of the funnier bits related back to the other films.
That said, if you are a Kevin Smith fan, definitely run to see the movie. If you dont know who Kevin Smith is, go rent all of his other movies, watch them (hopefully laughing your arse off), and then go see this film.
In case anyone does know, Kevin smiths other movies are:
Clerks
Mallrats
Chasing Amy
Dogma
Rent the DVD's and watch all the deleted scenes etc.

Ok now that this movie is no longer a sneak preview, who agrees?!?! I will chalk up the non responsiveness due to the fact that it wasnt out yet officially.

I saw it with ProMinx a couple weeks ago. Preview screenings are awesome because you're always sitting with the hardcore fans.
I laughed my ass off. I thought it was a pretty funny movie, and I'm gonna be sad to see Jay and Silent Bob go.

Absolutely loved it. I'm going to go see it again (hardly ever go to a movie more than once). After I watch all the earlier movies again.

Maybe I expected too much or maybe I shoulda smoked before I went to see it. I didn't think it was that great. It seemed like kevin smith tried to incorporate too many things into that movie and it didn't quite work out. I'm glad that this was his last jay and bob movie.

I kind of agree with StonedWheat ... I've come to expect SOOO much from Kevin Smith, that this movie was somewhat of a let-down. There wasn't an encompassing theme, and I felt that the movie didn't flow very well - it seemed more like a series of comedic sketches that were slapped together.
Having said that, I laughed hysterically, and I (seriously) almost snorted soda out of my nose a few times. No matter what I think of the directing and editing, the script is still signature Smith: pure genius. The lines are delivered at a breakneck pace, and you'll have to watch the movie a few times before you've heard most of the lines (because you were too busy laughing over the preceding lines the first few times).

What?!? You expect a transcendental experience from a mere movie? Even if it is a Kevin Snith movie, it can only be so good. Compared to the rest of the crap out there this summer, no you can't compare it. Nothing came near it this summer. Well, ok, Shrek is up there too and Atlantis was up pretty good. But nothing else that wasn't animated made it this summer. We were deluged with a summer of crap. Then at the very end, a week before semmer ends, one gem presents itself. Holywood shot itself in the foot this year. I doubt that they will be able to pull the same amount of movie goers because they have proven that they have no idea what a good movie is. Kevin Smith delivered as advertized. I got what I paid for. Anyone who says different needs to stay away from those union guys standing near the corner.
