Wal-Mart.com has just taken a price cut on the JamP3 16 MB MP3 Player. It's now down to $39.88, and there's still the $30 Rebate
at:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B000050AVW/rebates/107-6718592-5814105

I called the 1-877-776-3493 Number on the rebate form to verify that I could use the rebate on the Walmart item and I Spoke with Alise at the rebate center and she said that I could buy from walmart.com and send in the rebate form printed off from amazon.com and that there would be no problem!

And Just called my local walmart and they have it in stock for the same price, So I will save Shipping charges and go pick it up NOW!!

(Tax is still charged on the website and the shipping is 6 bucks!)

Total Costs:

39.88 @ Local Walmart
2.49 Sales Tax
====================
42.37 Total Out of pocket
-30.00 MIR
====================
12.37 Total Cost once the dust settles

I just picked it up and it is a decent little player:

Features:

MP3 player for kids
Made of impact-resistant, hard, rounded plastic
16 MB built-in memory
Expandable via MultiMediaCards (MMCs)
USB connectivity--PC and Mac compatible
Includes belt clip and earbuds

Stores about an hour worth of music (Longer than my work-out)-- Not bad for 12 bucks.

I am just curious as to how it stores an hour of music. 16 MB of mp3's is like 4 tracks, which would be about 16-20 minutes. To me w/the price of CD-R's being so cheap, I think these mp3 players are not even worth it. Nice post still though.

I have a CD Player that Plays MP3's, I love it, but when I run or workout it is just too big and will skip some as well. The only appeal it has to me is that it is:

SMALL About the size of your average wallet

BUILT IN BELT CLIP (Farily sturdy and removable)

LIGHT WEIGHT (You literally cant feel it on)

Granted the Storage space is lacking (I fit on 9 average songs at 64 KBS which is tolerable (Not great but not horrible) I could fit on 5 average songs at 96 KBS or for about 20.00 I could double the memory.

So it is a 12 buck single function unit for me.

KB Gear Jam It (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000050AVV/mp3-20)

It's a similar product, although I dont know about memory for this one. However it's free after rebate. Just pay shipping i guess - shouldn't be much for something this small.

The JamP3 also is for sale @ compgeeks for $38, if you have a mastercard, thats almost $4 off for a total of $34. Not sure about shipping though.

I have one of these and it is NOT at all similar.

It store 5 second (or less) clips.

The quality sucks.

It is fun as a free toy.
