If not, why share your inside joke with us? I find that almost as annoying as someone in real life blurting out something that is an inside joke with friends who are not present. Then everyone who doesn't understand the joke just stares at the person, wondering what the hell he/she just said. Then the person says, Oh, it was an inside joke, but that doesn't solve anything because no one is any more enlightened as to what the hell was said, so the person then has to try to explain the inside joke, only to ultimately end up saying, Well, I guess you had to be there.

I'm not saying that you should remove it from your sig, because it has been a fixture for quite some time. I guess all I am saying is that it's just a pet peeve of mine. ;)

surely your pet peeve couldnt possibly include something as brief as a simple "juan valdez" :P

Nah, the pet peeve is people mentioning an inside joke when it is not relevant.

I have nothing against your having Juan Valdez in your sig, nor do I have anything against Juan Valdez himself. I also have nothing against the princess either (although, I wish that I did!! :heh: )

story goes like this:

we were just chillen at the beach, and we distinctly heard a little boy scream "juan valdez" the way capt kirk (or admiral kirk) screamed "kahn" in the star trek movie. it seemed pretty much incongruent to anything that was going on, so we got a kick out of it.

see...not a very good story for you. pleasant memory for me
