The question at hand today is: If *god* (insert your favorite deity here) drank beer, what beer would it be?
Budweiser - The King of Beers
Miller High Life - The Champagne of Beers
Sam Adams Millenium Ale - brewed at 20% alcohol with maple syrup - $180/750ml bottle
Guinness - no reason needed
Harp - These instruments tend to be associated with the Orthodox/Christian God
Any others?

Ah, yes, Corona (a.k.a. Crown).
Good one!
It also wouldn't lead to a beer gut.

I think you are missing the point mojo...
While I agree that those beers are very good (some of my favorites), I was looking for beers that would be considered as "godly".

my bad
sam adams, any variety (sam adams, patriot-one nation under god)
sam smith's oatmeal stout (if quaker oats is "the right thing to do," it would be "good." good is a variant on the word "god")
karl strauss (is from san diego)
bass ale (bass is a fish, also sometimes considered a religious sign)
dos equis (x's are considered blessings in some cultures)

This is a BIG "if" because, as we all know, God only drinks Vodkas. I think the appropriate question is what vodka would he drink. Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves...

ProMinx, somehow I knew you would bring vodka into this discussion (If he did, it would probably be something like GreyGoose or Finlandia).
But we all know that if god drank hard liquor, it would be Scotch!

Single Malt. Aged 4 billion years. Just the way he likes it! :D

would it be a mountain scotch, a coastal scotch, or one of the many island scotches? i'm guessing island scotch...
it's odd that i know so much about scotch considering i've never had any GOOD scotches. i haven't even asked if any that i've tried were single/double/blended or where they were from...

Actually, I don't think it would be called Scotch at all... more likely it would be called Pangea whiskey :heh:
On another note, I have actually never had anything other than blended Scotch. And actually, nothing other than Johnnie Walker (Red, Black, and of course Blue labels).

there's a beer called Arrogant Bastard. it's tasty. i had it at the Yardhouse (http://www.yardhouse.com) in Longbeach and at the Library Ale House in Santa Monica. It's yummy, a slightly lighter stout than Guiness. If God won't drink it, then I highly reccomend it to y'all.

Prominx, we're wondering what the REAL God would drink, not your god, who lives in the dumpster behind your local liquor store. Leave Old James alone man he'll drink whatever Vodka's cheapest :hihi:
My guess is that God would strike down anyone who brought Him a glass of Budweiser. It's piss in the Beer World. Guiness is a definite possibility, because of not only the taste but because to properly pour a Guiness draught, you must pour twice. God would definitely be in no rush, because he knows to achieve perfection it takes time....

I think it depends if youre talking about the New Testament god or Old Testament. New Testament God would probably go for something low-key, whatever the 'dregs' were drinking out of brown paper bags... I guess a Quart/40 oz of Mickey's or Olde English. The Old Testament god would probably smite the people that make Budweiser or Miller's, and wouldn't bother drinking any him/herself.

I love the Yardhouse. That place rocks. However, one of my favorite beers is called Hoegarden. Next you are there try it. Very different kind of taste. Should be easy to remember cause of the funny name. Enjoy ;)

I suppose we shouldn't forget Immort Ale (it does really exist, but it is a barleywine). That's a pretty godly drink, and at 15 bucks a 6-pack...the price matches too.
