Do you eat your cup noodles with chopsticks or a fork? I use my trusty ivory sticks.

OWW!! Ow! ow!

Oh, sorry, I misread. I thought you said "Do a pole"

As for cups of noodles, I generally slurp it down (ergo the "lone" gunman)

a fork..but i'm white. whitey refuses to absorb other cultures...except for their food.

yeah, chopsticks and whitey don't mix. i don't have a problem with large chunks of meat/veggies and clumpy rice, but slippery noodles i can only handle with a fork.

i dont eat the cup of noodles... but you know those other noodle things, Ramen noodle soup, that you have to boil, i just eat the block all by itself.

It actually depends on my mood. AND I am picky. I can only eat the Ichibon brand.

I don't mind eating noodles with chopsticks, it's rice I have an issue with. I can't get it moist enough, even at restaurants.

ichiban is definitely the best, but maruchan has a coupla new flavors that are kinda fun - picante and curry.

A question to all you people who eat those Ramen noodle packages: Do you actually use the seasoning packets that come with the noodles? Those things have so much salt in them! If I ever eat Ramen noodles, I will only use half a packet, if any at all! Otherwise I will season the noodles myself. It's much more healthy!

ProMinx

haha, i used to actually use 2 seasoning packets when i was a kid because i liked the salt. somehow i didn't manage to stunt my growth and ended up being lean and 6'2" anyway...

fork all the way, sometimes i get jacked and forget a fork so i have to use a plastic spoon...

I use chopsticks....I go all out with them...I sometimes use pool cues! It gets more noodle to the serving.

Ramen noodle eating is a science. First you stab some with a fork, then you put the fork on a spoon and start twisting. When you have a big enough bite you cut off the extras with the spoon. Can you tell that I went through a few "ramen years" when I was first married? If you ever need new recipes.....lol. Kim

I always use a spoon... you get the broth too that way!

*snort*

ppl are eating it for two reasons:

over half the calories in the noodles are from fat.

they cost 10 cents a packet

(nowhere in that equation do you find anything relevant to "health conscious")

actually, the only time in my life i did not use the flavor packets was during pregnancy - your senses of taste and smell become godlike, and i developed a sudden sensitivity and revulsion to the taste of msg. i could taste in instantly in all these foods where i had never before noticed it: ramen, doritos, anything "ranch" flavored (including dressing... and more doritos, dammit, i liked ranch flavor doritos) anything labelled "sour cream and onion flavor" ... blech. i can still feel that special queasy feeling i got from it. it was right up there on my list with rat milkshakes...

actually, it's not the salt that kills you, it's the MSG (monosodium glutamate - definitely didn't spell right). And MSG kills brain cells ProMinx, so, yeah, it's not your growth i'm worried about :P.

And I usually use chopsticks, but being Korean, I'm 'supposed' to use metal chopsticks (only Koreans have metal chopsticks for some reason). And when I was a kid, I HATED eating ramen noodles with them slippery metal chopsticks. Now that I'm older, I'm more 'cultured' :) and use wooden chopsticks. :)

and brewmaster, Rooster sauce is definitely nice, but I usually use the Korean Hot Bean Paste (ko chu jang - korean word for that thing), and if I don't have any of that, Franks hot sauce :-D.

Also, some frozen veggies, an egg - after I take it off the stove of course (i love raw yolk).

ok, this post is long enough for ramen. Obviously, like Kim, I've had a LOT of experience eating these :)

i haven't had ramen noodles in SOOO long :( like, i think 8 or 9 years.

& it's because they aren't vegetarian, not because i don't like it.

maybe i'll go get a pack and just make the noodles, and add some stuff for seasoning!

yum

wrong. actually it IS the salt that will kill you. msg is only harmful when you ram several pounds per day up your rectum, as was done to the rats in the study that freaked out the country after the media twisted the hell out of it. no human has ever been hurt by eating a lot of soy. they die all the time from too much salt. it fuggs with every basic function of the cell... think Na+ ion channels... and if you don't know what i'm talking about, don't worry about it, cuz it's really boring to 99% of the human population.

I use a spoon. It's just the way I eat them, no special reason. I can use chopsticks just as well or better than a fork, I was raised with them (even though I am white).

I'll tell you one thing about those Koreans...since we're on the subject:

They have ramen down pat. Absolutely cold. They have these ones that require refrigeration, and are so goddamn tasty. Sure, they cost $1.50 a pack (thereby totally defeating the point of ramen to begin with). But MAN are they good. I think the brand name's like Fresh Ramen or something equally self-explanatory. I'd check 'em out.

only if you don't like cancer. otherwise, the tingling sensation is kind of pleasant. :D

and for some reason that fresh ramen is sounding powerfully tasty... i am going to take a special field trip to the asian food-store to look for it...

yeah, i'm not sure if anything would be uhhh, 'safe' if several pounds of it were 'rammed up my rectum'....
i wouldn't want ANYTHING up there: salt, sugar, cocaine, asprin

what exactly is "acceptable daily intake" anyways????

a reaction doesn't occur until .5 to 2.5 GRAMS are eaten... try consuming 4000 calories a day, all in soy sauce... and you MIGHT come close to that amount. too much of anyhting is a bad thing. you can die of water poisoning (and i don't mean poison in the water, i mean poisoned by too much pure water.)

i once saw a woman at the mall walk up to a chinese food kiosk and ask if they had msg in their food. she was told that they don't add any, but there is some naturally in it. she walked away in horror. the funny part is that she was munching from a large bag of doritos at the time. people are so stupid it hurts.

I eat Ramen with a fork, but instead of using the seasoning I like to throw a big ol' T-Bone in there with it. You know, for health reasons.

When I eat Chinese food from a restaurant I use chopsticks.
