...and everyone rushes to view the thread. okay, mild false advertising. here's my "dirty" problem:
evil 3-foot-tall gremlin + black ink pen + white leather couch = modern art, jackson pollock style.
a scrubby sponge and dish soap faded the marks quite a bit, but they're still there. anyone know how to proceed?

Be careful where you try something like this. It might work, but it also might make a mess of the leather. I'd follow the "try first on an inconspicuous place" rule.

I'd try hanging the kid upside down by his ankles for 5 mintues and swing him like a pendulum. I'm not sure what this would accomplish, but it'd be funny to see (post pictures!).

Goof off should work, but make sure you try on the back of the sofa.
Is it on one cushion? you can always make a cover for it and make a couple throw pillows if the goof off don't work.
Did you get it protected when you got it? Check to see if they have a number to call for stains. They might come out to clean it for you :)
I've heard that hairspray will get ink out of clothes, but not sure about leather. Good luck...darn kids anyway..I will be re-painting my hallway wall next weekend. Beast-boy found a green marker.

3ft tall evil gremlin + white leather couch = asking for it.
Get a couch cover until the evil gremlins reach 4' or so. There's nothin' us evils can't stand like a clean white leather couch. 'cept maybe matching loveseat or chairs.
Got Ink?

Gah! A few months ago my delightful child got into the SHARPIEs and highlighters in my desk and scribbled all over my laptop. Gasp! I nearly strangled him! lol Fortunately, with a little alcohol (actually, I used hand sanitizer! lol) and paper towels, it all came completely off. It scared the crap out of me, that's for sure! lol
:crossing my fingers for you: :)

Your screwed! Go buy a new sofa! Thanks for playing our home game!
Hey who has a leather sofa and kids anyway? That's just looking for trouble, then you go and say it's white too! Your so grounded for that!
The goof off works good but I wouldn't use it on a WHITE surface. Hair spray is nasty on leather too. Most stores that sell cleaning products have leather cleaning sprays. Also checkl out any store that sells leather jackets or shoes and they will have some great leather cleaning supplies.

Ha ha! I was once terrorized by a demon who took possesion of my 2yr old daughter & it involved a red sharpie and an off-white carpet. To this day the 'man-carpet' (carpet cleaning guy) is one of her best friends because he managed to get the stain out. Unfortunately, the side table she also drew on still suffers from staining. One of these days I'll probably have to sand it down & re-finish it...

i got it many, many years ago, while still an undergrad, before marriage, and it was marked down to $300 from $1800 because the bottom piece of plywood was broken... so it was cheaper than an ugly upholstered sofa. so that's my excuse...
and i am thanking GOD that it wasn't a sharpie...
thanks for the suggestions, guys...
