Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

29 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I've seen this before and I would like to think it's an exaggeration, but I wouldn't be surprised.

GOD you have to love this country! We love to elect just the right kind of folks for the big jobs! (I wonder what Canada is like this time of year...)

Marion Barry. I go to school next to DC and I was here when he was still the mayor. Videotapes of the man in a motel smoking crack with hookers and he was re-elected easily when he ran again. He would still be the mayor if he wanted it. I am convinced he is why DC does not have a vote in Congress.

Do you have any figures on convictions? Is this accurate? Do you have documentation? I'd like to see a link...

Nah, just got it in an e-mail and decided to kick the dirt around a little. Thanks for the clarification, topane.
