Ahhhhhhhhhhh......just want to let this all go......
This is one of the UC's in Northern Cali.

Last year:

They kicked me outta school by accident.
Yes, I wasn't doing well in school one
quarter because of some personal problems.
The counselor told me to submit an appeal
form so that I can stay in school. I turned
in the form and thought everything was merry.
Then three weeks into the quarter (after I have
taken my midterms), all my classes were dropped
and I was disqualified from school!!! As tears
falling from my cheeks, I ran to the counseling office.
Guess what? It turned out my counselor forgot to
submit the paperwork for me and another girl! :bawl:

This year:

I submitted my financial aid agreement before I
left school for the summer (I handed it to the
financial aid staff by hand!) I thought all was
merry until.....I got my school account statement
and my financial aid was not there! Being pissed
beyond belief, I called my the fin. aid office.
Great! Now I have to resubmit the agreement, pay
for the tuition outta my own pocket, and pray that
they will do the right thing and reimburse me!

Okay, I feel better now. :)

Send it certified mail next time. Or ask the person you hand it to for a signed receipt. Either way record the date/time, name and topic of conversation of each and every interaction with the staff of the office who keeps screwing you. You can use it as amunition when you bring up the "pattern of discrimination" against you displaied by the school. Keep a copy of every form you submit and don't forget to record who you gave it to.

Do not accept the pattern of victimization they are placing you into. Be an aggressor and make them fear you.

talk about wierd things happening in UC schools in Northern Cali. This summer I left for school and When I got back and checked my school account statement and found a couple thousands of dollars in financial aid I never even applied for. Hell, I don't even qualify for Financial Aid cause I'm a foreigner.... well, at least I have a couple thousand dollars in extra cash.

j/k...:) man that sucks. It's true about the school screwing up a lot though. I know many friends who have had trouble with their grades and fin.aid being processed. It must be the astronomical number of students the "UC regents" must deal with. Still, that's no excuse for the school to be messing with kids' education.

I've only had one experience with the UC system and it was a good one. I visited the UCSB campus and they had a Wendy's inside! WOW! And they also had a station where you could sell your notes for a class and they'd pay you like $150 for a semester. You could also buy notes from them. :) Good stuff.

Ouch ...

Maybe next time you hand in stuff, ask for their name & number, and say you'll be calling to check on the progress of your paperwork. When you call (after holding for the obligatory 20 minutes), they can look you up in the system, and see if anything is amiss. Hopefully, that will help you catch problems before they start.

Heh, another UC story ... I once received a progress report in the mail, indicating that I was getting a D in a class. This baffled me because I had received A's on every single test. Sooo I went to see the professor, and it turns out that she had "filled in the wrong bubble." Gee, thanks. I'd understand in a class of 800, but this was a tiny class of 10.

HAHA yes those progress reports. I've gotten many mis-calculated progress reports. They always say you're failing a course and after you ****e your pants and finally get the nerve to go and make sure, they say, "oh there was a computer mistake."

I'm glad to see that those UC's are living up to their reputation. :D

Heh, the "oops, I bubbled the wrong grade",
happened to me twice at my UC too. It is just the above
two events were so shocking that I forgot
about this one. No doubt about it,
I'm going to graduate from this school asap.
Yet it is tough to find a job with the
current economic situation. :cry2:

Wow...my UCs suck story isn't quite that bad. I've been dropped by classes (and not realized it until after the quarter was over) and told that I had walked in to drop them (actually it only happened once and that was this summer). I asked if they kept all of their records; they said yes; I asked them to show me my signature, so they went and searched and searched and eventually realized "oh...I guess you didn't drop the class. take this sheet to the professor and have him assign you a grade and sign it." Rat-whores...
