the phone is ringing and i can't find it!!!!!!

when did my life turn into this?!?!?! i can hear it... but i can't find it!!! by the ringing, i have it narrowed down to about a 12' by 8' area in the living room.... but it's not under the couch... or in the toy box... or even the most logical spot, up my butt right next to my head...

my remote once fell into the couch (couch with recliner at the end), and got stuck in between 2 pieces of wood. it was lost for like 4 or 5 years...

My kids love hiding the damn remote everytime I NEED it! I'd try something like...oh I don't know...cleaning the house and maybe it will turn up.

*sigh* the couch doesn't have detachable cushions, or even any creases between them, otherwise i woulda taken the damnable thing apart by now.

did find my wiffle ball bat behind the couch, so that's a small bonus...

and cleaning is not an option. period.

This may sound a little strange, but you might try fashioning some sort of a "funnel" for your ear (sort of shaped like a megaphone). This should make your hearing in that ear more directional and help you "zero" in on where the ringing is coming from.

If it is a speaker phone, and it has a page button, you could hit that button and walk around the room until you can hear yourself from the base unit. The louder your voice gets, the closer you are.

Wouldn't life be easier that way? Sure there would be waste all over the place but come on now! Space is never ending, just shoot the crap out there! Then we can buy all new stuff and just keep going! BOO YEAH!

found it -thanks coleslaw, the page thing worked... always wondered what that button was for. apparently, when i wasn't watching, the gremlin learned how to operate zippers - it was zipped up inside a pillow cover. sneaky little poop actually had the presence of mind to zip the damned thing back up after he stashed it.

it's called the locator button i saw it being used yesterday when my older brother could find the fone :) very usefull
