hehe, the improvements sound GREAT!

yes, they buy it, i think they get support with it too. Ive seen a fellow on here helping out the G|A folks when theres been problems in the past. That way, we get to enjoy the highest wuality Msg boards around! :D

keep up the great work guys!

I'm glad they don't skimp on wuality. That would be a bad thing. God knows we don't have enough wuality in our lives. ;)

I think we should switch over to Ikonboard V3 (http://www.ikonboard.com) when it's finished. It's free, and one of the members here is part of the Dev Team.

The different options were considered and this was the best choice.

Having that on would allow trolls to delete the threads that show their bad behaviour.

If anyone wants a thread to be deleted all they need to is email or pm me and it will be taken care of.

It's great that it's free. A lot of sites will be going for that. Unfortunately CGI/Perl is too CPU intensive which is why we switched from UBB to vBulletin in the first place.

but its still coded in perl. Yes they guys at GA bought the bulletin board instead of coding it cause well... they're out finding deals for us instead of sitting around reinventing the wheel.

First I just wanted to thank the G|A? guys for doing a great job with the update and keeping this place running. Thanks guys.

Also, just curious, how much was this new version to purchase anyway?

Hmmm...
That's not bad at all considering what they are getting for their money. I would have expected it to be $800 or more.

I don't see how Anandtech and fatwallet can afford the stuff they use.

Yeah, I would've expected this software to be WAY up there in price, like Final Cut Pro or Quark...

Just curious if any of you program. Its actually VERY simple to program a bulletin board (although with all the features its bound to be time consuming). Personally I was shocked to find out how much they charge. I mean... I could be rich hehe :)
