anyone want to come to dinner? Make sure you bring some margarita fixins. I could go for a pitcher or two. Anyone have any yummy ways to make smashed potaotes? I'm not in the mood for gravy, and plain taters are not good.

you can make garlic potatoes. sautee about 8-10 cloves of garlic, whole, in some olive oil until soft. then peel them and smash them and mix into the potatoes. you might have to mix it up with butter or something else first, i can't remember.

I'd go with the garlic and a bit of butter.

One thing that will make the steak and potatoes taste better is ME AT THE DINNER TABLE!

Thanks for the ideas. I went with the garlic, and I must say they were mighty tasty.

it seems like some of our members aren't getting quite enough to eat. Apex, you have an excuse because you're chained to your computer. Brewmaster, I know you eat because you stated so in a recent thread (using some stolen sauces from the UCLA dining hall :-p). Loki...come on man, how many dinners do you need? According to Nancy, this number was in the range of 3-5 per day. I don't even eat 3-5 dinners per week...

oh yeah...and for the record, this is because of time constraints, not for lack of funds or hunger. i'm always eating on the run, and thereby disallowing an actual dinner.

Yeah, but those stolen sauces go into Cup 'O Noodles. But they're not even real Cup 'o Noodles, they're the imitation crap from smart and final. I eat, but not well....So if you wanna cook me steak ProMinx I can be at your apartment in under 5 minutes (you said you live in Westwood, right). Hit me up with an email, hehe.

Let's see...I get off of work by 5, so assuming we just ditch the UCLA/Alabama game and drive straight to Utah, we can be there by about...midnight (assuming West Utah). I guess I'm game. Hope you don't mind if we wake your family, Eternally Ensign Kim...

Steak is good any time of day or night. And please try to have some of those mashed 'taters when we get there. (I'm having fun being the demanding house guest.)

We'll bring a bottle of wine to share with you and yours though, so we're not complete ingrates. Where in Westwood do you live, BrewMaster? I currently live in 679 Gayley and will be moving to 747 Gayley come Sunday morning.
