It seems like a lot of places are taking preorders on the XBOX such as kbkids.com, gamestop.com, and compusa.com but it does not seem like they are selling out. Any information as to why???

I'm not sure that you can "sell out" of pre-orders can you!?! I mean, there's no physical thing, so they can pre-order the hell out of the X-box, but unless it's garaunteed arrioval and order, you can't (or shouldn't) be 100% sure that you're going to get one on release.

ANYONE HEAR THE REVIEWS ON THIS X-BOX?

I don't think there have been any reviews yet, usually the publicity blitz is a month or so before release. I'd preorder at a place that has a liberal return policy, so you can send/bring it back for a full refund if it isn't what you expect.

The X-Box is supposed to be better than the Playstation 2. and all the other new ones coming out.

This site has all the specs for the main three new games systems coming out.

The X box seems by far the best choise. It also has a 10/100 ethernet card for the internet.

The reviews look great on those sites, but remember that they were released by Microsoft. Unfortunately, you can never trust the creator of a system to be completely fair and unbiased. If you ask the maker of any of the three systems which is the best and why, they will all say theirs is the best and give you a list of reasons as to why. As for me, I'll just wait until gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com) or someone like that comes out with a full side-by-side comparison.

Off course the real question is will I be able to count on them being hard to find like the PS2 was at launch. Thus allowing me to rape someone on Ebay because they must have it the day it comes out and they didn't bother to pre-order.

You may have noticed that you can't order JUST the machine. You have to order a bundle with the system, a few games and an extra controller. The cheapest one I've seen is $500!

It seems Micro$oft offered retailers extra marketing money if they pre-sold the bundles insted of just the machine. Jerks.

This seals my decision to go with a Nintendo GameCube. It was already a hundred dollors cheaper to begin with, plus the GC games look WAY better that Xbox's. Just ask anyone who saw both systems running at E3. Like me.
