You don't seem to understand. This is not a democracy. To get this changed you will have to convince Apex or Leon that it should be so.
What we think is irrelivant. To many posters will be going over 1000 posts for them to deal with custom avitars. I'm sure it's something they don't want to deal with just yet.

This is just going to aggrivate them. If I was a Mod I would boost the posts required to 6500 and permantly change your avitar to a jackass just out of spite for bringing it up again.

yeah, i think we won't be drooling for customs in a few months when there are more choices. and disney ones probly should be the next round... that would be cool. some of the obscure characters... scrooge mcduck...

of 6300 members, there are 332 members with over 100 posts. there are 33 members with over 1000 posts.

not that i have an opinion, just saying that moving the custom mark to the 1000-post range wouldn't swamp them too badly, since only about 5% of the membership will become as insane as us anytime soon.

each avatar is usually limited in ( <= 5k) size, so it's not like the upstream bandwidth or the storage space will be a problem either...

6000 is a bit high, no one is that high yet..... maybe something for true G|A posters, i say around 2500-3000, it would take low posters like me a year or 2 to hit that

While I don't think they will change it, I think 2k would be a good number. By that time a poster has pretty well defind themselves and everyone knows who they are.

Each avatar is under 5k. There are only 34 people over 1000 posts. That means 170k in disk space (max). That doesnt seem like a lot of space...otherwise we may be subjected to a huge increase of 'and closer' threads and posts :puke:

i think there should be some avatars that are time activated then you really dont have to be a blabber mouth in order to get your avatar. This also prevents the n00bies from getting out of hand. One should recieve new avatar options at intervals 1 month, 2month, 6 month, 1 yr, etc....

Also, for custom avatar, it should be a both a time and post restriction. In order to get custom avatar, it should be something like 2000 posts and 1 year membership. As you can see, I have long ways to go for that 2000 posts...

A good idea, huh? ;)

Unfortunately, vBulletin is not set up to do that 'out of the box.' It would require a hack to do that. Of course, so does the Galaga badges.
