who cares "whats in style"... thats a dumb reason to mod a car...
moda your car with:
A. Mods you like
B. Performance mods
C. Non-rice mods.
example: different fenders, new tires, steering wheel, shift knob, maybe even some indiglow gauges if thats your style.
performance: K&N Filter, cold-air intake, sport/heavy duty shocks and springs (ex: Bilstiens shocks and H&R springs), cat-back exhaust (no 6" tips though!), or even full exhaust including cat., manifolds, and more.

well... not all of us race... so dumping a few grand to make my car louder so that it can hurry to the next red light isn't quite appealing especially since i work and live in downtown Los Angeles...or let me put it in your terms... i find it "dumb" to put money into making my car so loud that i can't think... anyway if i feel better by making "look" better... then let me be happy with it...its no skin off of your back... also in reference to "what's in style"... i want to make my car look nice without trying to look like everyone else's car... is that too much to ask???...

You clearly don't know that much about getting more performance out of a car. You completely blew off all of Nanos performance mod suggestions and focused on the exhaust, while assuming that a modified exhaust system makes you car "loud". Yes, they can, but it is far more often a ridiculous resonator tip (a typical rice mod) that makes the loud flatulent sound I think you might be referring to. Saying "i find it dumb to put money into making my car so loud that i can't think" is clearly missing the point, not to mention you're putting words in to Nanos mouth. If you re-read his post, you will clearly see that he suggested no such thing.
Adding these performance part to a car does not make it a "race" car. Just about every car built is made to make 70% of the buying public happy, including your BMW. If you're happy with the performance of your Beemer, fine - but it is rude to bash on Nano for making those suggestions. All you had to say was that you were only interested in visual mods, not performance parts.

Personally I wouldn't do much to it unless you got too much money to throw around.
I got the 4door version and I really don't feel the car needs much. I just bought a front license plate with the bmw logo behind a chrome plate. That's about it. I was debating on whether to add some chrome exhaust cover for it or not. As you can see, these are minor adjustments. I would go with a nice set of rims though cuz the ones that come standart are rather plain.
To tell you the truth, if I were you, I would have opted for the 330ci. I mean, if you are going to go and buy some aftermarket stuff, you might as well go with the higher and having to worry about adding more mods to enhance performace. It looks nicer too. I saw a 330ci with stainless steel interior trim. It looked pretty sweet.

dayem...who pissed in your cheerios this morning, tupac?
exterior mods on a bmw...hmmm, very very difficult to do well. the car is beautiful to begin with and 99% of the time, exterior mods on a bimmer makes it look cheap...unless you're willing to spend the dough.
my suggestion, get some wheels...nice wheels...not those $99 a pop specials at sears auto center...get some BBS, OZ, Millie Miglias or something nice...actually...BMW has some dayem nice 17-18" wheels of their own...
then lower that shizzy.
very subtle, but oh so nice...not only will it enhance the handling, but lowered BMWs or Mercedes with *nice* wheels, look oh so pretty.
if you wanna do interior mods...i'd say go for something like a DVD/GPS system...don't mess around with carbon fiber or indiglo gauges or anything...you'll make it look cheap.
one of those things i guess...you spend the loot on a car like a BMW, you HAVE to spend more for mods or it's gonna look ghetto.

ok, maybe i as a little rude to start with... i mean the guy just spent mucho dinero on a new Bimmer.... so let me try this again:
congrats on your new ride!... welcome to the world of BMW ownership.
I myself have an older model, that some day i hope to be able to afford to "mod". not only performance mods, but stuff like wheels, sideskirts, etc.
One thing you should be carefull of is always using quality parts. Also be carefull of not falling into the current trend of "ricerizing" your car. It really makes a BMW look bad.
Suspension can both lower your car (not too much) and create a better ride.
(hang on i gotta reboot/ghost my drive - im at work. i'll post more later.)

no problemo d00d...
hehe, so ghosting my drive took longer than expected...
i think an inexpensive way to start Personalizing your car would be a shift knob, steering wheel, maybe even a cool custom made seat(s).
im soo poor (:D) i havent even afforded the shift knob yet.
I want the black leather MOMO Anatomico (short) knob. They're verry classy, and can be had for around $50.

If you plan on ever racing your car or heavily modding it performance wise make sure you upgrade the brakes, before it goes fast enough where you can not stop in a good distance. But with only a few mods this shouldnt be a problem.
