where can i find info on lawsuits?

for some reason, i'm trying to find an old lawsuit, or arrest record from about 5 years ago. i'm sure its in a newspaper somewhere, but i don't know where to look. anyone have any ideas?

for what purpose? digging up dirt on a company or individual?

if it was an individual and you know the county, go to the county courthouse and the records should be accessible to the public for a fee, the odd-looking person at the cobwebby desk in the bowels of the records archives should be able to help you find what you need.
