i HATE cleaning! why does my room always look like a bomb hit? i need more closet space, more shelves, more book cases, more of everything!

how am i supposed to keep my room clean when my closet is busting open, & there is no place to put my books, trinkets, pictures, etc, except on the floor? i need some serious help!

i think that if my room was a walk in closet, then everything would be alot better ;)

the next time i move, i am going to get a HUGE closet, that will be my only requirement. then, i think i'll be able to sleep in peace. all of my clothes neatly hung or folded, my shoes in a row, my junk in boxes packed nicely away on a high shelf. ahh, it sounds like heaven.

but alas, i'm here, w/ my small room and tiny closet. and i have to figure a way to fit everything. i need a miracle!

I know the feeling. I live in a studio apartment, and no matter how much I organize it never seems to be enough. Clutter everywhere! If I had the money to buy the right tools I could make some nice storage units/bookcases/etc, but nooooooo. Sigh.

Plastic trash bags are the solution to your problems.

styleee, Go buy a bunch of bags. Clean out your closets and drawers. If you have not used something in over a year, place it in a plastic bag. What about photos, momentos, and the like? Fine, get one normal sized file box. Put your photos and momentos in there, if is doesn't fit, it's gone.
Place all the filled plastic bags in the storage recepticle known as "the dumpster". Or donate to a homeless/battered woman's shelter. The Salvation Army has a high percentage of it's contributions going to support it's "overhead" so I don't give it anything. You hace enough space, but way too much stuff.

Same thing, soft goods (clothes, blankets, leather goods, thumb screws and the like) can just be thrown into plastic bags when moving. It's quick and easy. It keeps things clean, cardboard boxes make things dusty and scratchy.

Sure you do. I'm betting that 1/2 of your stuff hasn't been used in a year.
