This thought came to me earlier today - If I suspected a conspiracy, would it be better for me to keep my mouth shut so I could keep gathering so-called "evidence", or should I open my mouth and thus give the suspected conspirators a chance to become even more covert?

If you don't have the media behind you or the politicians paid off, forget about revealing a possible conspiracy. They will bury you, either figuratively or literally.
Combine that with Information Overload and Politically Correct Thinking, your theory(or even a fact) wouldn't stand a chance of surviving more than a week or two.
