If you installed Alexa, then Amazon owes you $2000 for invasion
of privacy. This is not a suit-in-progress, but a judgment;
Amazon/Alexa already lost the class action lawsuit. You can
claim your $2000 here:

Thanks, I just filed an online claim, but I doubt I'll get anything, even though I really did download Alexa. I no longer have the computer I was using at the time and don't have access to the cookie ID#. That was like 2 computers ago!!

I am pretty sure that I downloaded Alexa but I cannot find the cookie for the life of me. I am pretty sure I have re-installed my OS more than once since Alexa...

Bummer...

here is where reading legal documents pays off:

1. It has to be a cookie (and the EXACT registration info) for an Alexa install PRIOR to Nov 200

2. Only 5 pre-named people get the $2000:

1.11 "Class Representatives" means Joshua M. Supnick, Joel D. Newby, Richard C. Bieles, Jr., Loren Stone and Dawn Sklare.

3. Others get $40 or less:

5.8(b) Within 30 business days after the later of the end of the Claims Period or the Settlement Date, Defendants shall pay to each approved Claimant the lesser of $40 or a pro rata amount, calculated by dividing the amount in the Claim Fund by the total number of approved Claimants.

4. They will hand verify each claim

For the entire settlement: http://www.alexa.com/settlement/settle.html

You also have to give them more personal info to try to get this money than they could try to get using their cookie - SSN, phone, email, mail, yeah right...

I feel you Burzhui, I don't know how I could get the info off of my old comp. It seems like too much work and hassle for $40.
