View Full Version : what kind of crap is this?!
no political messages? has this been discussed with apex and darth?
for a long time now we have been able to discuss a lot of topics, speaking our minds, and mostly having fun, but also taking time out to be serious. we all sent our best wishes to bloodymess in his time of need, and we have all discussed problems in our private lives.
how is this website about to shut down political discussion at a time like this. i have not been a "regular" on this site for a while, and i dont know if i can come back to this site again after this. you may not like what people have to say. we respect that. we have kept all the porno crap that we have all been tempted to discuss away, and certain other topics have also been eschewed at your request. how can you justify closing down any political discussion.
i am sickened and i hope that many of the other members here will follow me in moving our interests to another website.

Which is a good idea. We don't need folks freaking out anymore than they are. Best to keep calm.

Yes, that's exactly it. We don't want to keep people from talking politics, but right now, things will get heated SO quickly and that is the last thing we want. So please, for at least today, just don't get into heated arguments about who to blame or whatever. Thank you.

stick to the facts and focus on the ones who lost loved ones. That's most important... don't magnify this situation

People were using this to figure out what was going on. The political discussions can begin after the dust settles, literally. We will not accomplish anything blaming sides for this when not only do we not know how many people died, but nobody has claimed responsibility. The last political discussion had like 200 messages of people pretty much saying I am right and you are wrong. The thread now has 180+ messages about what is going on. We don't need to add in 200 messages of finger pointing and chest thumping.

speculation and assumption are nasty things...
i agree w/ apex, this is something that should be discussed purely on fact..
this is already a horrendous situation, pointing fingers and getting heated about this, would only make it worse and disrepect those who have been personally affected by this tragedy.
why not?! whatever people have to say is valid and deserves to be heard and evaluated by each member and then replied to. the finger pointing will eventually die off and a more focused forum will take place, but that is al part of the process.
i just cant agree with the idea of limiting peoples' expressions of their feelings.
you guys are really closed minded

I think there is a logical reason here too.
There are three basic points of view:
I hate the terrorists
I salute the terrorists
I don't care about this issue
Most people POSTING here will fall into the first category.
They will likely attack the second two groups and thigns might escalate off the board and into real life.
Nothing to be gained by everyone pounding their chest as we are all on the same side

I agree somewhat with ATT. Sure it may be more efficient and less emotional to try to remove politics, but remember Mussolini made the trains run on time.

TLG, I kow you and I rarely agree, but I agree with you totally on this one. No use in saying the obvious.

GAM has to do this, G|A? isn't just a community, its also a business. There are liabilities at stake here. (ie, AOL incident). Besides, there is no sense of starting something that could potentially piss other people just because someone wants to "voice" their political opinions. Everyone is sort of sensitive about this issue right now. I personally have friends and family in NYC and the last thing I care about is someone's political opinion and start pointing fingers at people. All I want to know is if my friends and my bro-in-law is safe. So if you got something to say, say it later.

Just for the record, I'm a Christian Palestinian, not Muslim, but no hard feelings, it was a simple mistake since most arabs are Muslim. Anyway, as far as the celebrations go, you're right, they're ridiculous and disgusting. Most of them are kids who don't know what they're saying with their actions. The adults there should be ashamed of themselves. They are only small groups, but they are making all arabs look really bad right now.

The title of this thread was very intriguing, lol.
They probably figure now is not the time for people to argue about stuff. Everyone is in shock over these attacks.
