I used to work on the commoditites exchange which is(was) in building 4 of the WTC. I have been watching all of this coverage since about 7:30 am (PT) and cant believe that this is happenning. To think that someone would launch such an attack on innocent people. We all are speculating about who launched such an attack and no matter whether it was Bin Laden or some other crazy person, I am sure that they will be hunted down like the dogs that they are.

Yes they're playing it over and over and over and over since this morning and I must say, everytime I see it crumble, it gives me the chills. That scene is by far the most mindblowingly ridiculous sight I have ever seen in my whole life.

I too am blown away by the footage. I'm also in disbelief. I have a picture of myself and my brother of the WTC right over our shoulders that is not even a month old. I am completely dumbfounded.

I was there inside the WTC visiting two weeks ago and bought a poster which is still hanging on the wall. When I saw what happened on the TV this morning, I was completely speechless....

I was in NYC about 7 weeks ago. I took some shots of the WTC. I have one shot of the address sign that said "1 World Trade Center". To know that I'll never see it again is just... not right.

They shall rebuild. I hope they will, anyway. Do it to tell those damn terrorists that **** like that will not stop us. If they don't like a Democracy, then why don't they just stay the hell out of the US?

I think they are angry that we "interfere" with their issues.

all human tragedy aside for a moment, the buildings were monstrosities of engineering (in my opinion!!! and it is a humble one indeed, so don't flame me!! just disagree, it's okay!!) and hopefully they will get one of the world's top architects to design something easy on the eyes as a replacement.

when they rebuild...make it one building..

when the first one collapsed, you kinda knew that the second one was affected by it, weakened it...and yeah, it was gonna collapse soon..

Sounds like things they said about the Eifel Tower when it was built. I personally don't think the WTC so bad looking - I've seen far worse "modern architecture".

A 200-story building??

They were both hit by planes, that is why they collapsed. All that steel and concrete is there for a reason on each floor. If a huge chunk of that is taken out on several floors, yep... they are gonna fall.

and killing thousands of Americans will get us to leave them alone.

That is only what THEY think.

I wonder if they'll build the next one as tall. Taller?

I would think they'd make it taller, to 'prove' that the American spirit is bigger than they can try to kill...

you know, just show them that we're still strong...

my guess is taller. whenever something goes down, we're always drooling over new techniques, materials and technologies, wanting to see exactly how tall we can go... heck, this might be a good excuse to make the new tallest building(s) in the world.

Well, the 2 were what...100 stories each? So if they build ONE it would have to be 200 stories, at least with the old design.

I would really like to see it the same as before... 2 main towers. Just with updated technoligies.
