GotApex? and other deals forums have SAVED ME a lot of money. I don't have much money sitting around but I do get rebate checks coming in all the time. Don't you?? So I just gave $100.00 to the Red Cross Disaster Relieve online (liks below). (My $70 HP 215 rebate and my latest $30 Staples discount). I challenge anyone who thinks they cannot do this to give anything, but I CHALLENGE ALL OF YOU to match me by just going to give whatever will cause you even a little pain. For some my give is huge, for others it is small. But please give!! Let's see how much members can give. Even donating that $5 rebate you got last week is a HUGE help. 2 or 3 victoms or rescue workers who literally wouldn't have a meal will get one with that donation. I don't know if you've ever tried doing anything hugely stressful without eating. Lives will literally be saved with even that small gift!

Hats off to GotApex for providing the deals page with all that great information. I followed the "how to talk to your children" page.

Reply back to this thread and let's keep track. Give what you can, reply back here, and keep this thread on top! Let's keep this thread going!!

I understand the Amazon site is even better for donating, if that donation is less than $50, because Amazon will eat the credit card processing fees and pass along 100% of your donation to the Red Cross (Amazon is NOT taking their normal 15% fee). GREAT!

The minimum donation to Red Cross through Amazon's site is only $1.

Everyone please make a donation, even if it is only a couple of dollars.

Screw it, I just donated the $300 I'm getting back in my tax rebate.. Anyone else who's getting a tax rebate should consider doing the same, that is if their financially stable enough (obviously if you have 2 kids and a wife, $20 would suffice). We'll overcome this...

I'm a lowly college student, and just donated $100. As much as I would like that money, it just doesn't compare to real need. I'm impressed by how well America can respond, through the internet and through communities like this.

Made my $100 donation straight through the American Red Cross site link that dealsdyker provided:

https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp

Make sure you select "Disaster Relief Fund".

My $20 is apart of the now 1.5 million courtesy of amazon.com. I figured if I were in that horrible situation, I would want people to do the same.

I'm in for $50. This was the front page of the SF Examiner today. Pretty much sums it up.

If my income tax rebate was bigger I would of been happy to give more, but it was only $35... hehe... I just got out of college so I don't have a lot of money to spare these days, paying back too many loans and such.
