This was my way of coping. I hope it isn't too bad. :)

At 8:45, the first plane hit.
We didn't know they wouldn't quit.
At 9:03, the second came,
At that point we didn't know who to blame.
People running for their lives,
Sisters, brothers, children, wives.
9:43 found the Pentagon attacked,
A third hijacked plane had been tracked.
Victims came down, among the rubble,
Firemen went up, amidst the trouble.
At 10:05, the south tower fell,
Trapping thousands of people in a living hell.
A fourth plane crashed in an empty field,
The passengers just wouldn't yield.
They became heroes for the United States,
They must have been in dire straits.
At 10:28, another tower falls.
All that is left are a few walls.
Finally at 5:20, Building 7 crumbled,
People everywhere were humbled.
The numbers of missing is to high to guess,
The United States is under tremendous stress.
Rescue efforts continued on,
Nine survivors were found and withdrawn.
My eyes are weary from lack of sleep,
My heart is breaking, I want to weep.
For the victims and familes and US as a whole,
For the innocent lives the terrorists stole.
Their plan to scare us deeply failed,
As a country, we will prevail.
We will fight back, we will survive.
We will rebuild and we will THRIVE.
