nutcases gone too far...i agree. not religion? i dunno. the perpetrators probably had a lot of religion in mind when they did this. i doubt they were jewish tho. they were probably of islamic faith. and as many have said...we can't look at every muslim and condemn them

interesting point. i just realized that christianity has people who kill in the name of the lord, but we dispell them as nutjobs who have nothing to do with the faith. i am sure islam is doing this as well with these jerks and saying that they do not stand for their nation. why would christians have the power to say "they are not us" and when it's another religion we condemn the whole religion (not we as in the people here, but the prejudice that we see happening right now)?

in short:
if a "christian" kills for god, that person is a nutjob.
if a "muslim" kills for allah (or whatever non christian religion and their god), that religion is full of nutjobs.

What is interesting is that I bet their last names weren't Rabinowitz, Goldberg, or Schwartz. I bet they weren't O'Reilly, Johnson, or Tortelli, either.

Unfortunately, certain groups tend to favor hijacking, just as certain groups tend to support suicide bombings. This IS a cultural fact and NOT just a specific nutcase.

The lone gunman (not be confused with me) doesn't need support from others. On the other hand, the suicide bomber needs others to egg him on and to support him. Tim McVeigh did NOT drive his truck into the building. He parked it outside on a timer and left. He was (allegedly) alone and was airing a personal gripe. David Koresh was the same way.

On the other hand, the terrorist at the Sbarro pizza in Jerusalem or the one at the cafe in Haifa had the full support of their family and friends. They expressed their personal pride in being a human bomb before and during the deed.

i'll agree to the point that suicide missions and hijackings tend to be the favorites of muslim extremists. however, tim mcveigh expressed his pride in his actions, and had some support. and the hijackers dint have any fambly with them on the planes. yeah, two of the guys were brothers, but i'm saying that they had similar levels of support. lots of people regard tim mcveigh as a hero. the words of others bolstered him before the act, and he received support after the act.

the point is, whackos almost always have support of one kind or another (i say almost only because of the unabomber) and whackos come in all flavors, but a relatively few whackos don't make the whole flavor whack.

It is interesting that things now DO tie together.

One of the terrorist hijackers, Mohammed Atta, previously carried out a bomb attack on a bus full of innocent people in Israel.

Had Israel not felt the pressure NOT to hunt down and assasinate this man (or if Yasser Arafat had agreed to arrest him) he never would have been able to pilot the plane into the WTC.

We should let Israel do what it has to.

The policy of "turn the other cheek" or "don't escalate the violence" has completely failed and unfortunately thousands and thousands of Americans had to die because of it
