Not sure if this was the pony promised over a YEAR AGO, but I got a pony in the mail.

He is posable and bendable to my every demand (again, just like our Chief Executive). Unfortunately, unlike W, he cannot fire missles at my enemies or flip coins for the NFL.

Either way, it's pretty cool.

The promo on the bag indicated Toy Story 2.

Anyone remember what this is from?

I'd sure like to see what Slick Willy would have done in this situation. He would probably be kissing ass with Bin Laden right now and having dinner with him at the Ritz asking him what year wine he would like with his meal.

Actually we KNOW what Bill Clinton would have done because it actually happened.

He was ready to assassinate Bin laden in the end of December, but no one in the Department of Justice or the Pentagon would give him the go-ahead.

They had the intelligence on where he was and they had a plan in place.

This story has been verified by several independant reliable sources.

Before you get all huffy, please remember that Reagan and then Bush actually sent money and weapons to Bin Laden and his associates.
We thought they were better than the Russians in Afghanistan.

Boy, were they wrong.

The Washington Compost had columnists doing the same thing with snide remarks. :disa:

----

During the Cold War the US rightfully helped the mujahideen resist the Soviet invader. That effort (and others) were successful and the USSR died. Now some there call the US the Great Satan. That's gratefulness for you.

Anyone else find it strange the Afghans are putting their country at risk for an outsider? bin Laden is a Saudi.

I don't think they view him as an outsider since he is a fellow Islamic extremist. I imagine that Muslims view themselves as cultural brothers kind of like many of my Jewish friends consider themselves Israeli. He is going to bring a world of hurt on them though.

The Taliban, which rules Afghanistan, is not the same as the Mujahadin. Some are the same, but other Mujahadin are fighting the Taliban with the Northern Alliance. Everyone needs to do a little research before we go traipsing over there.

The Taliban is an extremist fundamentalist movement that exported it's corruption of Islam from Pakistan to Afghanistan. They are almost like an occuppying army that needed a base and found the weakest nation in the area. It would be fair to compare them to the Hashashim, a suicide assassination sect (sound familiar) from which Hash and assassin derive in English. They were wiped out by the Mongols in the 14th Century. Afghans do not necessarily support them, but the Pakistani's do. 'Ware the ground war going into Pakistan. They could have a coup while our troops are going into Afghanistan and cut off supplies and rear areas. Now THAT would suck!

Just like Christianity and Judaism, Islam forbids suicide. It also defines Jews and Christians as "of the Book" and not Infidels.

Our strategy should be like WW II. Demolish the enemy, then rebuild them in our model. Cultural imperialism, but at least we win.

That being said: Carthago Delende Est.
The Battle Hymn has been sung. Salt the Earth.

Right Civengine.

Here's an article about the Northern Alliance military leader Ahmad Shah Masood Masood has kept balance of power (http://www.washingtontimes.com/world/default-200191585216.htm)

Unfortuantely it appears "Lion of Panjshir" is dead. Its said bin Laden had a hand in this. Afghan embassy: Masood dead (http://www.washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/nobyline-2001915114636.htm)
