Yes, the black boxes beep if they are wet.
So, if the one at the pentagon is beeping, it must be sitting in a puddle from the fire hoses.
They said on the news (nbc) that the one in PA has been recovered and the one at the pentagon "has not been located or emited any beeps" But then said they are working to find the beeps.... :confused:

I thought they emitted a beacon of some sort, not audio but like a radio signal.

It would make sense that they would do both, in case one of the functions became inoperable.

It's a given....you tell somebody not to do something...and they do it anywayz...take xiled for example.
The voice recorder recovered at the Pentagon is too damaged to be usable. The other two show early signs of being deactivated - possibly by the terrorists themselves - but this is very preliminary. I always thought that was impossible myself...
It does not matter. The people behind this attack will be found.
