View Full Version : stop the killing!
religion and killing don't mix! people, get a clue!!!! you can't kill in the name of god, allah, or whoever your "god" or lack of "god" may be. if that being wanted people dead, such a powerful being would have death occur already. if you were a messenger of said god, then you would be given a better target than innocent people.
of course i am talking about the tragedy on tuesday. but i am also talking about the killings that happened in the congo in july of this year...more than 800 people were massacred under suspicion of witchcraft. http://iafrica.com/news/worldnews/515480.htm
does anyone else find it ironic that people are killed in the name of god or religion?

that was what i was thinking....
ironic isn't the word I'm looking for...
but reading that article about the Congo...
there doesn't seem to be anything about 'God' mentioned on there...more like, well, "The rebel Congolese Liberation Front administers the area."
i know what you're sayin mojo, but not quite the example we're all lookin for.

Here's (http://news.excite.com/news/ap/010912/16/nigeria-religious-violence) an example of how this is happening today. Sadly, those "Muslims" and "Christians" that are engaging in such fighting are poor examples of both.

I just noticed this. If you look at the caption to the picture accompanying the article linked in my post above, you'll see a much better example of what a Christian should be. :)

Think about it. You're killing someone because your immaginary friend told you to???
I usualy just ignore the voices in my head when they tell me to kill people.

in this example, the people are killed FOR their religion. there are a lot of messages here. you can be killed for someone else's religion. you can be killed for your own. god doesn't need to be mentioned for it to be a religion. if they killed a bunch of christians, then they may also not mention god.
just remember that here in the states, we can look forward to a freedom of religion without being condemned for it. you can be a muslim, christian, buddhist, wiccan, whatever you want. you can chose not to be religious.
on tuesday, there was a tragedy that was probably done in the name of a religion. in my example, it was different as the people were put to death under suspicion of a religion.
