Good read. It's sad, and kind of sensationalist, but it's still good.

okay, so it's on the espn webpage, but come ON... "Sometimes, we wonder the value of sports. What are they teaching kids? What are the lessons learned?"

yes, the sports benefitted the guy, but i think there are a million other, more important and universal benefits to sports. i don't think we need a bunch of peckerwood football coaches telling their 12 year old team members "work harder! you think you're ever going to be able to beat the poop out of a terrorist? one more lap!"

poorly told, but a good story.

Yeah, pretty much what I was thinking too. It sounded like it was yanked from a cheesy movie script.

But it's good to know they tried. That's been a big question on my mind -- if all these hosers were wielding were box cutters, it seems a group of folks should've been able to overpower them pretty easily. But then again, it's easy to say that sittin' here.

yeah. it's hard to kill someone bent on suicide. (beserkers get something ridiculous like a +5 to hit, no?) and who knows? flight school isn't that intense... maybe they spent their off-time at the lcoal gym...

My thing about that is that if people had know (like they did on that flight) that these terrorists were gonna crash them into a building or something, yeah, all the flights would've had somebody fighting.
But they didn't know, and they'd prolly be more comfortable letting the 'authority' taking care of it instead of risking whatever bodily harm that may come to them.
