1. More civil rights gone, but we don't notice -- they will just be slowly eroded as they have been for about the past 50 years and people won't question it.
2. No real impact on terrorism -- similar to the "war on cancer" we will stop some attacks and fail on others. The net result will be a lot of motion (and money spent) but about the same number of casualties.
3. Bush joins his dad as a one-term President -- Nationalism and chest-thumping is already starting to die down and its less than 2 weeks later. Pretty soon he will be exposed as a paper tiger. (Remember, Sadaam is still in power and there still have NEVER been free elections in Kuwait, after 10 years)
4. Joe Lieberman forges a secret aliance with the Christain right (they actually support Jews and are very stronly in favor of Israel) and they deliver the Republican votes to him and he becomes the next President.

can you expand upon point #1 a little bit TLG... I would like to see in what way you mean that more civil rights are gone.

1. Lock up people without ANY evidence, just by claiming that you suspect they are related to terrorism:

2. National ID cards, that include fingerprints and travel records:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/630118.asp?0dm=N17JN
3. Changes to wiretap laws
You used to have to get a warrant and then prove why that specific phone (even though you could get a warrant with almost no evidence) Now you can just tap random phones (and keep all the evidence) because you claim you "thought" it belonged to a terrorist

Actually he would stop at that point, because it sounds like #4 is something he would hope for.
Until that time, however, he shall still try to enlighten us with his strong PERSONAL opinions.
Even after 4 years of having to put up with that in the G|A? forums, I would still want George W. Bush til' 08. Maybe that's because I am a good person and wouldn't want TLG to run out of things to post.

I agree with you on GWB as a one-termer, but I dont think Joe Lieberman will be 'the man.' I think the chest-thumping will have died down, but the smart money will still be on someone with military experience (quitting the national guard early doesnt count).
The parallels between #41 and #43's terms are striking. Economy is a mess, a crisis in the desert.... I would put money on one of the Kerry's winning with probably John Edwards as vp. They need Lieberman in the Senate...
