Here in San Antonio today, some jackass Delta pilot kicked a man off the plane simply because he has an Arabic last name. The pilot told the man he was not "comfortable" with him on the aircraft. I really hope Delta cans his ass so that he can be "comfortable" at home.
Wow. Do you have a link for us?

Yep I sure do lets see heres a link to one of the more crappier stations in town since the others havent posted anything about it yet. One correction, the term the pilot used wasn't "comfortable" it was "secure".

*sigh* pilots these days  ...so paranoid i mean if the guy was trying to hijack the plane i'd think he would try to stay on the plane....and if it's only one guy i don't think that would work out at all...

Asharaf Kahn, a Pakistani-American, said that he was sitting in first class on Delta Flight 1469 bound for Dallas Fort-Worth, when the plane's captain approached him and asked him to step off the plane.
:hmm: If he was planning to crash the plane, why would he spend extra money to get into first class?

An airline employee recounted how before passengers boarded one of the planes that went down, she was talking with two of the suspected hijackers. She noticed they were sitting apart from each other. One in first class and one in coach. She offered to put them together, but they refused. She thought that was a bit odd, but to each his own.
Anyway, it is a strategic move to spread out throughout the cabin. Easier for crowd control. Think about it . . . if you had three people each with aisle seats spread evenly throughout the cabin, it would be a lot easier than having three guys all in the same row . . . one each in the window, middle and aisle seats.
On a related topic, I was watching the questions the committee thats handling the "bailout" for the airlines were asking. They started to ask about security and how the airlines want the Governement to handle it and pay for it. Some of the airline execs are against leving a fee on fares, which would be 2 or 3 bucks, stating that people would not pay the extra few dollars. So would you not buy a fare because its $203 and not $200 for example?

If that money was going to be used to implement some *reasonable* security measure, I would pay it in an instant.
