I know they're one of the "hands that feed" so to speak on this site, but they made an honest error on their web site about the Dell CPi D266xt laptops.. they had it listed as using 512mb of sram.. which i read as sdram at the time, yeah i'm stupid.. but either way it only supports 256mb of EDO memory.. i called them up and told them that i was unhappy with the fact that the site said that (and that the latch for the laptop was nonexistent/missing).. they agreed to refund my money but when I posted on resellerratings.com about the error my review was pulled and all of the laptops on their web page suddenly disappeared today.. except for one compaq armada.. i get home from work and i've got an email from them quoting how it said it used EDO and only 256mb of it.. i screen capped the page and also saved the html.. not to mention that the sales rep i talked to yesterday confirmed, with me on the phone, that the information was incorrect.. i'm astonished that a company would go to such great lengths to deceive one customer.. if you read this far then thank you for your time

It could simply be lack of communication between the two customer service people. I'd try to get in touch with the first employee you spoke to, i.e. give them the benefit of the doubt since not many people have had much trouble with them.

hopefully it really was just a communication issue, quite likely.. happens alot in the computer/tech world.. but either way it seemed like something that needed to be brought to the attention of other's just to be wary.. i'm not going to call them again just because it's LD and it's not worth spending more of my money on..

People can edit replies not thread titles. The thread title has been changed.

compgeeks, suck? blasphemy...somebody get the tar and feathers!

seriously though...you had one bad interaction...i've been ordering fromt hos guys for years...and i've only ever had one problem..a defective 15 dollar modem...didn't even bother sending it back. i've had run ins with buy.com, outpost.com and some other lesser known sites..it's part of the retail business...there will be confusion and sometimes the consumer will be unhappy with the product. i don't think it's fair to get on here and blast the geeks for one bad experience...
