Sitting here studying astronomy for my test this afternoon...and I was wondering how many college students were out there, what your major is and what school you go. I go to University of MD University college and my major is Computers.
Also, if you are graduated from college, what is your degree in and from what school?
Have a good day everyone :)

I got stuck here in Maryland for the past 5 years because my dad got a contracting job here. But last May he got a job back in Cali and we are joining him next May after my bro finishes school here. Yay! The closest forms of civilization around here are D.C. (an hour and some away) and Annapolis (2 hours away). So Ramona sounds good to me right now :D We used to live in Coronado and lived in Rancho Penasquitos 8 years ago. Personally I would rather live in La Jolla but since I am still living at home I go where they go. My parents say it is too expensive and my mom "wants some land" Once I get out of college and get a "real" job, my dream is to move into a condo in La Jolla. I go to Umiversity of Maryland University college and take my classes online so I can move wherever. Even if I was to move to Annapolis or some place more city-like around here it still wouldn't be home. Cali is home and I can't wait to go back next May. Ok now that I am done with my life story, back to surfing.
P.S. What area of SD did you live in Jforce? What state are you in now? If you don't wanna say that's ok, just curious.

Did you say Rancho Penasquitos?!? NO WAY?!?!? I lived there for like 8 or so years. As a matter of fact, my folks got a house there. We're renting it out right now though. I went to Mount Carmel HS. :D
Anywho, I've spent the last 4 years roaming around from city to city and I have to say that SD is the nicest I've lived in. So, much like you, Cali is home :) SD isn't much of a place for a single guy though, not much to do there. Either that or I was going to the wrong places. :heh: Right now I'm living in Redondo Beach. About 5 minutes from the Hermosa Beach Promenade. Lots to do there every night :) I frequent visit SD still though, at least once a month. I still have college and HS friends down there so its kinda hard not to. Next time I go, I'll keep an eye out of a White VW Beetle. Make sure you put a sunflower in your 'vase' that way I can recognize you.

haha small world. I went to Black Mountain Middle school, near Mt Carmel HS. Only for 6th grade though then I moved to Coronado to a crappy old apartment, which was only supposed to be temporary cause we were going to move east. But it ended up being 3 years before we did that. We had such a nice house in Pensaquitos I was sad to go. A swimming pool and everything :bawl:
But anyway, you think there is no night life in SD?? hahaha you should try living here. There is nothing to do ever unless you drive a couple hours. We have one crappy movie theater 20 min away, one good restaraunt in the next county 30 min away and one small crap mall 45 min away (in yet another county.). Oh but we have lots of fast food restaurants  How old are you J? Guessing from your graduation date I would 25ish. Am I right?

UIUC, that place really is in the middle of nowhere. I was there this past winter break and it was like 2.5 hours from any airport. It's a big campus with that giant space-ship-looking basketball arena. I heard there's a lot of people that go to UIUC. How many? All I have to say after that trip is that I have no idea why the mid-west is populated. Freezing cold with snow in the winter and hot as hell with humidity in the summer. It really should be empty. I love California. No snow to shovel, and you can get by without A/C in mostplaces.

Small world indeed! I went to BMMS for 8th grade!! Talk about coincidence! Sorry to hear about your crappy apartment in Coronado. I always thought that Coronado was a pretty cool place to live though. I think PQ was pretty nice. Right now I have build SO much stuff around it its not even funny. Do you still remember which neighborhood you were living in?
I think I should rephrase the "no night life in SD" thing...I kind of meant that SD is mainly populated by either old folks, families or high school kids, so most of the stuff you can do there, its catered to those age groups. Maybe not as much in La Jolla though. But I think I have pretty much exhausted all the things to do in SD. I kinda happens when you spend 10 years or so in one place. :)
You know what's funny about the fact that you gotta drive so far to get some decent food? I have to do the same here in LA. If I wanted really good food, I would have to drive at least 20 minutes or so. But then again, this is LA. :heh:
Oh yeah I am 25, how would you have guessed? What about you??

I lived on C Ave in Coronado in a really old apartment. My G-ma used to own apartments there. But now she sold the property and they bulldozed them and built billybox houses. Yep I went to BMMS too...was a dork in the band haha played the flute. One of my teachers was this gay guy named Mr. Spears. You think the restaraunt situation is bad there too? haha. Around here all we have is Perkins and Applebees (GAG). I miss restaraunts in Coronado like the Bringintine, The Mexican Village...and I miss Mimi's Cafe in Mission Valley, along with several others. Oh and Oscar's is really good...we don't have that here either. I am 20. My brother is prob going back to Cali before me! No fair! He says he wants to go in January. I will prob go in May. I can't wait.

You played the FLUTE?!?!? Haahaa, you're gonna laugh, but I did too. Haahaa. But I wasn't in band. :P (No band camp jokes for me, phew!)
Perkins and Applebees? I thought Perkins was being slowly phased out by Dennys. Most of the Perkins in Rochester were switched to Dennys. I don't think Applebees is that bad though, then again, I haven't been there in a while so I wouldn't know. Now I haven't heard of the Mexican Village and I don't quite remember Oscars. One thing I missed when I was out east was that they didn't have Jack in the Box :D I have to say though, there isn't a lack of food places here, its just that driving out its a requirement. I personally prefer non-chain restaurants. But some chains are pretty decent. (ie, Olive Garden, CPK, TGI Friday's, Chili's, etc...) But for great sushi, it can't be a chain restaurant, it's gotta by a local joint :) So now, why can't you move back to Cali in January again?

Dude I know how you feel. I moved to MD from CA and finished high school there. MD sucks, no nightlife, no good sports teams, middle of nowhere. I almost went to UMCP too, it was a good thing it was my safety school and I got accepted to my first choice in Boston. My advice to you is to hit up Baltimore, they got a pretty good nightlife there in fri and sat nights and its not too far away. Go to the lava lounge at inner harbor on thursdays, its college night.:winkie:
