Maybe tech support asked the user to send a screen capture....

How would "Print Scrn" have produced a hard copy? Remember... the printer is "out of ink" therefore screen capture/print screen won't work since you can't produce the print on paper.

That monitor is on a "copier" to produce a hard copy.

ummm.. Hit "Print Screen" and it just puts a screen capture on the clipboard. You can just save it and print it out when the printer DOES have ink.

That is if you are in windows, of course. ;)

the point was if the printer is out of ink...the assumption is that you need it "now." if you could wait, then you wouldnt need to hit print screen.....you would just "save as" in whatever program you are using.

why ruin a perfectly good joke? :hmm:

You actually belive that windows know that you have no printer...well don't tell mine 'cause I use that method all the time and my computer never asked me for a printer. Honestly I doubt the scanned image is any "harder" than the one that is captured :)

Heh... you must not work for the Government huh? If you did, then you would know that if you run out of ink, then you gotta fill out several forms in triplicate, take copies of said paperwork to admin and procurement, wait days, weeks, months only to be told that it is on "backorder".

Then when it finally DOES arrive (several months later) you find that they have given you a "refurbished" toner cartridge instead of new, since they have "special contracts" with several "low bid" contractors that have won the rights to be your exclusive suppler.

The refurb toner cartridge then goes into your printer however it prints with a big fat "racing stripe" of ink down the center of every page thus adding to the "uniqueness" of all the hard copies you produce.

Either way... your still "@ssed out" when it comes to getting more ink since there is no more money in the budget to go back and get a replacement for the replacement. :hihi:

Well... you know that windows has "secret conversations" with all of your peripherals. They just don't tell you that they have been communicating via Active X encrypted messages. They are plotting to overthrow the entire system and paste "All your OS are Belong to MS" on every document you attempt to capture.

I stand corrected...My computer has begun asking all kinds if odd questions and damands that I paste all I store due to the fact that I have copied far more than I have pasted !
I feel I am evil in some way for I know I am guilty, I swear if I can correct my past wrong-doings I shall cut far more often and copy less. One day I will only be guilty of taking more than I could handle rather than stealing more than I ever needed ....
please let me be forgiven !!

Speaking of cheap ink cartridges...

Anyone know where the cheapest place is to buy the HP51645. I don't want to go through searching the prices of all the ink websites to find the cheapest place if someone has already done it. :)
