View Full Version : Finding solace in music
Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. In these days of crisis and unity, what lyrics do you find comforting?
The lyrics don't have to be related to what's going on - just anything that makes you feel good.
I'll be sharing some of my own choices soon - I just thought I'd open the topic for now.

i pick up my nylon string and play some stuff, original and otherwise.
as far as listening goes, you can't go wrong with garbage. lately it's been garbage, a lot of ska, and stuff like:
common disaster-cowboy junkies
angel-sarah mclachlan
texas flood-srv
pride and joy-srv
higher ground-stevie wonder
asturias leyenda-andres segovia
allegro molto-shostakovich
my favorite things-stanley jordan
eleanor rigby-stanley jordan
watermelon man-herbie hancock
then of course stuff by jack johnson, angelfish (yay), and bob marley. that is just lately of course. tomorrow will prolly add to the mix

I have loved music ever since I was a baby. My mom says I used to dance to music when I was 2 years old haha. I grew up on MTV, back when it wasn't so perverted...and I still love 80's music. I always have music on wherever I am, all dif kinds. It is my absolute fav thing in the world. :)

good old smokey jazz does it. Or Old Dave Matthews. But I'm open for options. Anything but twangy country crap.

I listen to Dave Matthews in any time, good or bad. He's just the best. I also like to play my guitar. I only play my oown original stuff. It's fun and freeing, I just lock the door and express myself on the strings, usually without words.

agreed. The closest thing I listen to country is Faith Hill and Leann Rimes...their ballads. Like the theme from Pearl Harbor. I love that song!

Am I the ONLY one that listens to country music on here now that Nicemann isn't here? :(
Anyway, not that you guys will know them, but here are my faves:
"Amazed" by Lonestar
"There You'll Be" by Faith Hill (That's the Pearl Harbor song mentioned earlier.)
Actually, pretty much anything by Lonestar, or Reba, or geez, okay, there are too many to list. Here are the lyrics to "Amazed":
Everytime our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
is almost more than i can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel howmuch you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
i can see your dreams
Chorus:
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better
i wanna spend the rest of my life, with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby i'm amazed by you
The smell of you skin
the taste of your kiss
the way you whisper in the dark
your hair all around me, baby you surround me
you touch every place in my heart
oh, it feels like the first time everytime
i wanna spend the whole night in your eyes
Chorus
Every little thing that you do
i'm so nove with you
it just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life, with you by my side
forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
oh, every little thing that you do
baby i'm amazed by you...
