wondering why my puter was lagging, i decided to run a virus scan. i myself and not one to usually get viruses, but somehow i got the recent nimda virus, actually i had 109 instances of it =P. others should probaly be aware and scan your puter just to make sure. i got it from outlook with its stupid "preview" option, other outlook users should probably turn this option off. i must give whoever wrote it credit for their ingeniusness.

Any post mentioning the Nimda virus should be in The Suckage topic. Yes, it was well written. But that little fact won't help the bastard one little bit if I ever get my hands on him.

Another reason that I refuse to use Outlook (which has been described as a security hole disguised as a mail client).

Hehe, nothing wrong with outlook as long as you protect yourself. I thought I had the nimda virus too, I ran lots of scans with different AV though and nothign came up. The sweepers for the virus came out clean too :D On another note....a funny story. When I worked at SBC DSL as a tech this summer, I got a lady saying she REFUSED to use Outlook and would only use the Netscape Mail program to protect herself from virii (sp?). Then I got this smart ass remark "The only reason I use windows is because of e-mail, if I really cared, I'd be on linux." My response was something like "Ma'am, you can get e-mail on linux." haha <click>.

The problem is that there seems to be something new every other week that you have to do to stay protected. I protect myself by not using it. :)
