I am in the process or remodeling my basement and will be putting in a big screen TV. I am looking for any input into which big screen TV is the best that is under $4000.00. Any input would be great.
Do you prefer direct view or rear projection? Also, I'm assuming you want 16:9 format?

I want 16:9 format since everything is going that way anyway and not extremly concerned on front or rear projection. I know on most of the 50 and above inch TVs are usually rear projection. I have looked at Sony, Tosiba, Hitachi, and RCA and I always seen to find a flaw. I liked the RCA P61310 but it has no video output. The Hitachi's don't seem to be as clear. Also I was hoping to find something that had VGA/SVGA capability but can't find those either. So any input would be great.
LOL... I just read your title. 50 inch TV, so that rules out a direct view. Heh, I'm an idiot. :heh:
Here are some that got good reviews:
Pioneer Elite PRO-510HD
That's just a list I compiled. I haven't had a chance to read up on any of them, but I thought I'd post it up in case you wanted to get a head start.

Where are you getting the reviews besides epinions.com

You should check out the home theater websites for recommendations on HDTVs. Hometheaterforum.com is very good, Hometheaterspot.com is also very good. AVSforum.com is good but can get quite technical. You'll find tons of recommendations/information at those sites. Good luck!

Be careful to read through all the posts on Audioreview.com; some are very helpful but some are pretty worthless.
Also, check out http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/ for lots of good information about different HDTVs.
